Slacker. . .

Wow, I'm getting pretty bad at updating my blog - sorry. I plan to start some posts soon, but until then, I'll fill you in on some recent events.

A.) Most Excitingly - Lamoni got a job! It was quite a miracle actually. He was planning on attending Weber State University to complete the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) for a Police Officer or Corrections Officer in hopes to get a job. The school starts January 19 and goes until May. We were praying he could get a job before and they would pay him while he was at school. . . I know, a dream right? It was a long shot, but hey - we were desperate! A position opened up at the Duchene County Jail for a Corrections Officer. Only ONE position. (Duchene is an hour drive away). Lamoni said 6 people applied, and only 3 of them passed the physical part. (including Lamoni! Yay!) But one guy had already finished the POST class, bummer. . . well, Lamoni got the "declined" letter and we were quite bummed, but a few days later, they called him and wanted him to come in and meet with the Sherriff. (This was just last week) So, he went in and they hired him too! AND they're going to pay him while he's at school!! AND they're going to give him a car to commute!!! AND he looks HOT in his uniform! (hee hee!) Anyway, we are very blessed for this opportunity. Prayers are answered!

B.) We've had the Chicken Pox hit our house! It started with Alma - I think he got it from school but he didn't break out until after Christmas. It took the full 2 weeks before the girls broke out and poor Lili is having a terrible time with it. She is COVERED - and I feel so bad for her. I hope they don't scar her pretty little face. MaryAlice is doing well, she doesn't like the ones on her bum, especially when I have to wipe it after a diaper change, but other than that, she's okay. Alma was a trooper and handled them well also. I'm just glad for the kids to have them and get them over with.

C.) Well, for those of you who don't know - I'm pregnant! Yet again another 'surprise'. (3 of my 4 were surprises - you think we would've learned our lesson!) My due date is July 1 - my Mom is glad, it's right before "RODEO" season! We get to find out what it is on February 6th, so I'll definitely post that. I have a feeling it's a Boy, but whatever comes, we'll love it!

Well, that's probably enough for now. I'll get on the ball and post some pictures soon.

Congrats on the job! Is he going to be living at home while in school now that he has the job? Not that you'll see much of him regardless, but I guess it'll be nice that when you do see him he'll be in uniform :)
