Poor Nana. . .

So, this morning my household played out a familiar scene from the Disney movie, Peter Pan.  Here is the scene (from my point of view) - Lili was on the couch holding Mary-Alice.  Jessie(the dog) was on the other couch.  I walked around the couch and bent down to pick up Mary-Alice from Lili.  Out of nowhere, Jessie leaps from the couch and lands right on top of Mary-Alice.  So, being the crazy new-mom that I am, grabbed the dog and threw her off the baby.  I pick up my poor crying baby and realize the dog is over in the corner freaking out.  She's yiping and screaming quite loud.  She's also limping.  The launch across the room ending with a thud against the wall hurt her back leg.  

So, (here comes the scene from the movie. . .) the children AND LAMONI are over with the whimpering dog, making sure she's okay.  I'm holding the precious 5 week old baby wondering what is wrong with my family?  They are more concerned with the dog!  That's when I chuckle and remember the scene from Peter Pan when Mr. Darling collides with the dog, Nana and the whole family runs to the dog saying, "Poor Nana".  The father then gets mad and orders the dog to stay outside for the night.  

Well, it took me about 3 hours, but I feel bad about hurting the dog, and we have made our peace.  Mary-Alice is fine, she's got a crazy mother who will pummel anything that might hurt her.
